A quality job from a highly professional tradesman.

I don’t often write reviews, but when looking for a ‘one-off’ job like a new driveway, it is difficult to know who to entrust to undertake the work. So I thought helpful to advise how pleased we are with our new resin driveway installed by Nigel from Regal Resin Driveways. We first became aware of them when we saw a driveway being laid by them in Newtown and were impressed by the quality of work.

They are a small family business, but have undertaken both large and small jobs (they show many of these on their website). Nigel (the boss) undertakes the work himself. Our driveway was cracking badly, so creating a solid base was vital for us. They are also groundworks specialist which we saw as vital to ensure a long-term solution. Having dug out the old drive, a thick layer of limestone scalpings were packed down, with a minimum of six inches of reinforced concrete together with a new drain cover over that base. After five days allowing the concrete to set, the resin was then laid by hand having been mixed in what was akin to an industrial-sized food mixer. Hard work but a joy to watch!!

They were self-sufficient in terms of power and needed no water (concrete came via a pre-mixed lorry) with rubble from digging out taken away each day without the need for a skip. They left the site safe, clean and tidy. We were impressed with their speed of response, friendliness and approachability (very helpful when it came to choosing the colour stones) and the finished job, both seen and the unseen ‘foundation’. A great transformation.

We have no hesitation in recommending Regal Resin Driveways.
